BOZEMAN, Montana, March 18, 2026, Former NFL President and Ariel Investments Executive Joins Board of Military Transition Nonprofit
Jason Wright, managing partner and head of investments at Ariel Investments and former president of the Washington Commanders, has joined the board of The COMMIT Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to helping U.S. military service members and their families transition successfully to civilian life.
A former NFL running back, Wright played seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, and Arizona Cardinals, serving as team captain and union representative. After retiring, he advised executives at McKinsey & Company, became the NFL’s first Black team president with the Washington Commanders, and now leads investments at Ariel Investments, focusing on long-term value creation and leadership development.
“Jason has navigated transitions at the highest levels—from professional sports to consulting to private equity—always leading with humility, clarity, and character,” said JC Glick, CEO of COMMIT. “He embodies what COMMIT believes: when one chapter closes, it is not the end of purpose, it is the beginning of authorship. We are honored to welcome him to the board.”
COMMIT provides personalized, holistic support to its Fellows—service members, veterans, military spouses, and members of the intelligence community—helping them rediscover purpose, identity, and values, strengthen resilience, and build lasting community. Its no-cost services span the entire transition journey, from pre- to post-separation, and extend as lifelong support. The organization has served more than 7,000 participants through executive-style workshops, personalized coaching, and a lifelong alumni network.
“The men and women who serve our country possess extraordinary leadership, discipline, and resilience,” Wright said. “COMMIT helps translate those strengths into meaningful civilian careers. I am honored to join the board and support this mission.”
“From the NFL locker room to the boardroom, Jason’s journey reflects the transition success we help our Fellows achieve,” said Lindsay Cashin, senior vice president of advancement and strategic partnerships at COMMIT. “His leadership and strategic insight will be invaluable as we continue to grow and scale our programs.”
