Margaret Riley serves as Chief Operating Officer of The COMMIT Foundation, where she leads strategy and operations for a national nonprofit supporting service members, veterans, and military spouses as they navigate career and life transitions. With nearly two decades of leadership experience spanning the military, law, philanthropy, higher education, and the nonprofit sector, Margaret brings a multidisciplinary approach to building organizations, leading through change, and translating strategy into execution.

At COMMIT, Margaret partners closely with the CEO and Board to set organizational priorities, drive strategic initiatives, and strengthen the systems and infrastructure needed for sustainable growth. Her responsibilities span organizational strategy, finance, people and culture, governance, risk, and operations, with a focus on aligning mission, resources, and execution to deliver measurable impact.

Previously, Margaret served as Director of External Relations at PsychArmor Institute and Director of Community Partnerships & Investments at Wounded Warrior Project, where she led national partnerships, philanthropic investments, and cross-sector initiatives supporting veterans and military families. Earlier in her career, she worked at the intersection of higher education, public service, and legal advocacy, including roles with the University of Southern California’s Center for Innovation and Research on Veterans & Military Families and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.

Margaret began her career as a U.S. Army Judge Advocate, serving with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), including a deployment to Iraq. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Clemson University and a Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law.

Margaret lives in Jacksonville, Florida with her twin sons.
